Kato Tsunasuke is the 23rd descendant from Kato Shirozaemon, the founder of Seto pottery tradition. In 1978, he received the Mayor’s Award during the Contemporary Ceramic Exhibition of Aichi prefecture. Ten years later, he was granted the title of Excellent Traditional Craftsman by the Governor of Aichi prefecture.
