Kameda Shigeki, born in 1951, started his career in 1974 at the Ryūkō workshop in Tobe. Since 1987, he is a regular member of the Japan Traditional Crafts Association (Kogei Association) and was selected to show his work in numerous national exhibitions. In 1997, he was appointed holder of traditional craftsmanship (in moulding section) and has now become one of the leading ceramic artists in Ehime Province.
